The Links Section has been created in order to facilitate access to ORION online resources, which have been provided by the ORION Virtual Librarian. These come under different categories, all of which provide useful information for marine environmental science users at different levels of knowledge and expertise. Global Information System on Fishes(http://www.fishbase.org/home.htm) Marine Biodiversity (http://www.coml.org/coml.htm) MARINEBIO (http://www.marinebio.com) provides the marine biology research community with online resources, with an opportunity to get involved as some resources rely on user input, such as the site’s species inventory, which gives information on every marine plant and animal species online. FAO Terminological database ( http://www.fao.org/faoterm.default.htm) Scottish Environmental Protection Agency (http://www.sepa.org.uk) Marine Institute, Galway, Ireland provides a range of information on all aspects of marine science and research, with useful information on harmful algal blooms (http://www.marine.ie/online+services/index.htm) The US Environmental Protection Agency has a special dictionary section (http://www.epa.gov/teachers/dictionaries.htm) which specializes in definitions of common environmental terms, abbreviations and acronyms in non-technical language.
